ERO & Elizabeth Rata correspondence

Ever since I first cast my over the OIA documents that NZATE obtained, I have been curious as to what the correspondence between Elizabeth Rata and ERO might reveal. ERO played a key role in the development of the MAG directed curriculum rewrite, providing quality assurance to the writing groups. You will recall that Elizabeth Rata was on the MAG, and also led the English years 7-13 curriculum writing team.

Those OIA docs suggested that Rata was not afraid of making her thoughts clear regarding ERO's feedback. Late October last year I put in an OIA to ERO for those documents, which was refused because they said they were going to proactively release them shortly: ie, once the curriculum was with schools, which was to be early December.

Well, things haven't been as tidy as that promised to be. The curriculum was delayed until March, and so I followed this up with ERO last week as things were stretching the definition of 'shortly'. They have replied:

"we are now finalising the release of the material. We expect to complete this shortly and will directly notify you when this happens."

I will post when they are available, but whispers indicate there is some 'interesting' stuff in them, which I am sure will add some colour to my part 2 report.
